Nenadi Usman Takes Over Labour Party Amid Factional Disputes in Abuja

Nenadi Usman has taken over as the interim chairman of the Labour Party, leading to tensions with the faction led by Julius Abur. The Abur faction has condemned the alleged forcible takeover of the party's national secretariat in Abuja, accusing Usman's supporters of vandalism and breaking into the premises.

The faction claims that hoodlums invaded the secretariat, replacing existing billboards with banners bearing Usman's image. Despite a Federal High Court in FCT recognizing Usman as the interim chairman, the Abur faction insists on pursuing legal avenues to resolve the leadership dispute.

Meanwhile, Justice Peter Lifu of the trial court has upheld Usman's leadership, with the court relying on a Supreme Court verdict declaring her the valid national chairman. The situation remains tense as both factions assert their claims to leadership within the party.
