Abure Appeals to Supreme Court Over Labour Party Crisis

Abure is taking his case to the Supreme Court after the Appeal Court in Abuja dismissed his appeal, which sought to challenge the earlier judgment that removed him as the national chairman of the Labour Party. The Appeal Court upheld a prior decision by the Federal High Court, which had ruled that Nenadi Usman is the legitimate leader of the party.

Abure's legal team argues that the process that led to his removal was nullified by the Supreme Court and that the Independent National Electoral Commission should recognize his tenure. Despite the court's ruling, Abure and his supporters do not accept the judgment and maintain that the Labour Party's convention scheduled for 2024 remains valid.

They have instructed their lawyers to pursue the matter in the Supreme Court as part of their efforts to overturn the Appeal Court's ruling.
