Access Holdings Plc issued an official notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on July 31, 2026, addressing a false and malicious publication circulating on social media. The publication falsely claimed that Access Bank Plc, a subsidiary of Access Holdings, would cease banking operations.

The company categorically stated that the publication was not issued or authorised by Access Holdings Plc or Access Bank Plc. According to the filing, Access Bank Plc remains fully operational, well-capitalised, and continues to serve its customers. The company also confirmed there has been no change to the operations or financial condition of either Access Bank Plc or Access Holdings Plc.

Access Holdings disclosed that the matter has been referred to relevant regulatory, security, and law enforcement authorities, with steps being taken to identify those responsible for originating and disseminating the false publication.
