Accord Endorses Adeleke for Osun Governorship Re-election

The national leadership of Accord has officially endorsed Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, for re-election in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15. In a press statement issued on Monday in Abuja and signed by Barr Maxwell Mgbudem, the party's National Chairman, it was stated that Adeleke's record in office has garnered widespread support, positioning him favorably for victory.

Accord praised Adeleke's administration for its achievements in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, workers' welfare, security, and social amenities. Despite challenges such as the withholding of local government federal allocations, the governor has continued to fulfill his mandate.

The party has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to maintain neutrality and ensure a free, fair, credible, and inclusive election. Accord also urged voters to reject vote buying and other electoral inducements, emphasizing the importance of protecting the sanctity of the ballot box.

The upcoming Osun governorship election is viewed as a critical test for INEC's preparedness for the 2027 general election.
