Accord Party Forms Committee Amid Crisis in Osun State

The Accord Party (AP) in Osun State is facing a political crisis, prompting party elders and stakeholders loyal to presidential candidate Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim to establish a seven-member committee.

This decision follows the expiration of a seven-day ultimatum given to Governor Ademola Adeleke, who has been accused of not supporting the party's 2027 Presidential Project. The stakeholders demanded that Adeleke publicly endorse Dr.

Hashim and distance himself from the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, President Bola Tinubu. Failure to comply could jeopardize Adeleke's political support ahead of the August 2026 governorship election.

The newly formed committee, chaired by Alhaja Sherifat Oke and including Hon. Sunday Olayori as Secretary, is tasked with consulting various political stakeholders and will report back in two weeks.

The stakeholders reaffirmed their loyalty to the Accord Party and its presidential agenda, emphasizing that all candidates must promote the party's interests.
