ACF Appoints Mallam Bukar Zarma as Acting Secretary General

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has commenced a leadership transition, appointing Mallam Bukar Zarma as the acting Secretary General. This decision was announced by Brig Gen Haliru Akilu (rtd), the Chairman of the Selection Committee.

The transition process involves a review of the ACF constitution to ensure the continuity of operations. The committee has set a deadline of May 15 for the completion of the handover process.

The leadership structure includes a six-year term for members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), with the possibility of one renewal for three years. The committee also noted that four senior positions will be filled, while the selection for the Secretary General has been deferred pending the ongoing review.

The last day for the current Secretary General, Mallam Murtala Aliyu, is set for March 10, 2026, marking the end of his six-year term.
