ACF Suspends BOT Chairman Over Financial Misconduct

The Arewa Consultative Forum's National Executive Committee (NEC) announced the suspension of its Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman, Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu, due to allegations of diversifying fund violations. The NEC, during a meeting held in Kaduna, issued a communiqué stating that a vote of no confidence was passed against Dalhatu, prompting a forensic audit of the forum's finances.

The allegations include the unauthorized movement of N1.4 billion from the forum's endowment fund to accounts outside the approved financial structure, as well as interference in financial administration without NEC approval. The communiqué, signed by Professor Tukur Muhammad Baba, emphasized the need to protect the integrity of the forum's accounts pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

The NEC reaffirmed its commitment to uphold the forum's constitution and ensure transparency in its activities.
