ACF Board Rejects Dalhatu's Suspension, Calls for Unity

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) Board of Trustees has publicly rejected the suspension of Dalhatu, stating that the National Executive Committee (NEC) lacks the constitutional authority to appoint or suspend members, including the chairman. The board described the suspension as a reckless and ill-advised action driven by a disgruntled minority within the forum.

A statement signed by several prominent northern leaders, including former governors Abdullahi Adamu, Ibrahim Shekarau, Sule Lamido, and others, condemned the move. The board accused former Secretary General Murtala Aliyu of orchestrating the crisis, asserting that his tenure expired on March 10, 2026, rendering his actions null and void.

The board emphasized that there is no leadership crisis within the ACF and criticized the NEC for allowing unfounded allegations against Dalhatu. They called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and reassured the public of the forum's commitment to unity and the promotion of northern interests.
