INEC Removes Mark and Aregbesola from Website per Court Order

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has acted on a Court of Appeal order by removing the names of Senator David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from its website. This decision follows a directive from the court in the appeal case CA/ABJ/145/2026, which involves a dispute over the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

INEC's Chairman, Moham Haruna, stated that the commission will not recognize Nafiu Bala Gomb as the acting national chairman of the ADC until the ongoing litigation is resolved. The court's order was issued to prevent any actions that could prejudice the trial at the Federal High Court, where the matter is currently pending.

INEC has also been cautioned against recognizing any leadership claims from Mark's group until the court's decision is made, ensuring compliance with the legal proceedings.
