INEC Removes Mark, Aregbesola from Website per Court Order

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has acted on a court order by deleting the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from its website. This decision follows a directive from the Federal High Court in Abuja, which ordered INEC to refrain from recognizing Aregbesola as the acting national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) until the resolution of a pending legal dispute.

INEC's chairman, Moham Haruna, confirmed that the commission will not acknowledge any correspondence or attend meetings related to the ADC until the court matter is settled. The court's order was issued in response to a suit filed by Mark against Gomb, emphasizing the need to preserve the integrity of the electoral process while the case is ongoing.

The court has also instructed INEC to ensure that it does not act in a manner that could undermine the trial's outcome.
