Sarah Martins Faces Abuse for Helping Woman in Flood

Actress Sarah Martins recounted an incident where she offered a lift to a female neighbor struggling in deep floodwaters outside her estate in Lagos. Despite her good intentions, the woman's husband, who was walking further behind, verbally abused Martins when she stopped her car to apologize and offer assistance.

This encounter prompted Martins to question whether the man's anger stemmed from jealousy or insecurity. She expressed shock at his behavior and warned women to be highly selective in their marital choices, advising that it may be better to remain single than to marry a partner who acts as an enemy.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Martins explained that she recognized the woman in distress and was incredulous about the man's reaction. She noted that the 2026 rainy season has been particularly challenging for Lagosians, with unprecedented flooding levels attributed to blocked canals and improper waste disposal.
