ADA Clarifies Stance on NDC Registration with INEC

The Democratic Alliance (ADA) issued a statement distancing itself from the views expressed by Dr. Umar Ardo regarding the registration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

ADA clarified that while Dr. Ardo's opinions are strongly held, they do not reflect the official position of the party.

The statement emphasized that the NDC is currently registering as a political party with INEC, which remains a viable alternative platform for Nigerians disillusioned with the ruling parties. ADA called for restraint and noted that it cannot undermine the opposition by not fully registering.

The party intends to engage lawfully with INEC and the courts regarding its registration. Furthermore, Buba Galadima, a political associate of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, revealed that the NDC will soon submit its membership registration to INEC and confirmed that the party's presidential candidacy will be zoned to the southern region for the 2027 elections.
