APC Chieftain Jalo Warns Against Fintiri Successor Crisis

Alhaji Abubakar Jalo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, has issued a warning against a potential crisis concerning the selection of a successor for Governor Ahmadu Fintiri. Speaking in Yola, Jalo urged the APC leadership to avoid allowing Nuhu Ribadu's influence to dictate the choice of candidate, stressing that the party risks losing the state if candidates are chosen based on ethnic or religious affiliations.

He recalled the 2015 governorship election, where Ribadu's imposition of a candidate led to a loss for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), even in his own voting unit. Jalo emphasized that the voters should choose candidates based on service delivery rather than political affiliations.

He also criticized the former APC state chairman, Alhaji Idri Shuaibu, for raising concerns about the political plans that could impose unpopular candidates. Vice President Kashim Shettima's support for Fintiri was dismissed by Ribadu, highlighting the ongoing internal struggles within the APC in Adamawa.
