Adamu Atiku Resigns as Adamawa Energy Commissioner

Adamu Atiku, the eldest son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has officially resigned from his position as Commissioner for Energy Development in the cabinet of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State. His resignation, effective March 2, 2026, was communicated through a letter addressed to Barrister Awwal Tukur at the state government secretariat.

In his resignation letter, Adamu Atiku expressed deep personal reflection and gratitude for the opportunity to serve under Fintiri's visionary leadership over the past seven years. He described his tenure as a rare honor and acknowledged the modest contributions he made towards the infrastructural growth and development of Adamawa State.

The resignation follows a period of political transition, as Governor Fintiri recently defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
