Fintiri Defects to APC with 22 Commissioners in Support

On a significant political development, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This decision was announced during a press conference where 22 commissioners expressed their solidarity with the governor's move.

Notably absent from the event were Adamu Atiku Abubakar, the son of former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and two other commissioners, Tijjani Maksha and Afraimu Jingi. Governor Fintiri attributed the decision to join the APC to the developmental strides made in Adamawa over the past six years, which he believes have positioned the state as a model of good governance and infrastructure development.

He assured that the alignment with the APC at the federal level would further enhance development for the people of Adamawa State. The commissioners, including Hon.

Aloysius Babadok and Hon. Jame Iliya, reiterated their commitment to following the governor's lead, emphasizing that this decision is in the best interest of the state's development.
