Adamawa Court Fines ADC Candidate N3M for Poster Violation

An Adamawa court has imposed a fine of N3 million on the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for placing campaign posters on public buildings, which is a violation of state environmental laws. The judgment was delivered following a case brought by the state Ministry of Environment, which had previously issued an executive order prohibiting political parties and candidates from placing campaign materials on public structures.

Bala Sanga, the counsel for the ADC candidate, noted that there was no criminal trial or arraignment, and thus no plea was entered. The court's decision emphasized the need for political parties to respect the rule of law and comply with established regulations.

Mark Wosi, representing the campaign organization, stated that they would fully comply with the judgment and had already directed support groups to cease placing posters on public structures in adherence to the court's ruling.
