Youth and Women Engage in Climate Change Policy in Adamawa

On Friday, a conference was held in Yola, Adamawa, organized by Earth Warriors, aimed at engaging youth and women in the development of climate change policies. Dr. Emmanuel Bala Bwala emphasized the urgent need for Nigeria to develop its own climate change policies, highlighting the impact of climate change on young people.

Musa Andrew, representing Earth Warriors, noted that decisions affecting youth are often made without their input, and this conference aimed to ensure their involvement in climate action. The conference also proposed a policy document to be presented to the government, which would address the interests of youth and women in climate change issues.

Musa Usman commended the efforts of the organizers and highlighted the ongoing work of a climate change working group in Adamawa state, which is already developing a state-specific climate change policy.
