Adamawa Launches E-Mobility Initiative with Electric Tricycles

On Monday, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State launched the state's e-mobility initiative, unveiling locally assembled electric tricycles in Yola. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to reduce transportation costs and shift towards cleaner energy.

Fintiri emphasized the importance of this rollout in redefining energy access and creating economic opportunities across the state. He announced that by March 2025, Adamawa would present its investment potential to investors during a roundtable convened by the Rural Electrification Agency.

The state signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with A4 T Group, targeting mini-grid commercial solar solutions and clean mobility infrastructure to address energy access challenges. The partnership has already delivered solar home systems to 6,000 households.

The newly launched electric tricycle assembly by Sparrow Mobile Ltd in Yola represents a significant milestone, with plans to source 90% of vehicle components locally in Adamawa.
