Adamawa State Celebrates Cultural Diversity on World Tourism Day, Urges Embrace of Native Names

Adamawa State celebrated World Tourism Day with a cultural festival where various ethnic groups, including Fulani, Bachama, Igbo, Tiv, Margi, and Laka, showcased their heritage near Yola International Airport. The event aimed to promote cultural diversity and unity, with calls for Nigerians to embrace their native names to preserve their culture.

Chief Emmanuel Nwabueze Aneke emphasized the importance of reconnecting with roots and heritage through the use of native names. Commissioner Aloysius Babadoke highlighted the theme of sustainable tourism transformation for unity and diversity.

The event symbolized a commitment to promoting tourism as a driver of development and cultural preservation in Adamawa State.
