The Akwa Ibom State Hotels Tourism Board highlighted tourism as a key driver for development and community progress during the unveiling of activities for the 2025 World Tourism Day celebration. Mrs.

Ime Udoh, the Chairman of the Board, emphasized the theme of Tourism for Sustainable Transformation, aligning with the state government's vision for economic growth through tourism. The event, originally observed on September 27, was shifted to October 4 to coincide with government activities.

The celebration featured a road walk exercise and a social media challenge to promote the state's scenic routes and cultural attractions, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and community participation in tourism development.
