Adamawa Teacher Arrested for Alleged Rape of Minor
A teacher has been arrested in Adamawa for the alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl. The Police Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, announced the arrest while presenting the suspect.
The arrest occurred after the victim's family lodged a complaint at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Yola South LGA. Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect allegedly lured the minor and engaged in unlawful carnal knowledge.
Following the incident, the victim was taken to a hospital for a medical examination. The Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, has ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yola for a thorough investigation and prosecution.
CP Hassan condemned all forms of Gender-Based Violence and assured the public that justice would be served, urging parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
