Abuja Police Arrest Man for Raping 12-Year-Old Girl

Zayyanu Halilu was arrested by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command after officers caught him allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl inside a tinted vehicle at Airport Bridge Taxi Park, Abuja. The incident occurred on October 2, when police operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, on routine patrol, noticed a navy blue Volkswagen with registration number KMC567LQ shaking.

Upon investigation, they found Halilu sexually abusing the minor. Preliminary investigations revealed that Halilu had lured and abused the victim multiple times in the same vehicle, threatening her to keep silent.

A medical examination confirmed that the girl is about three months pregnant. The victim is currently receiving medical care, while Halilu remains in police custody and will face charges after investigations are concluded.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, urged parents to be vigilant regarding their children's safety.
