ADC Accuses APC of Plotting to Destabilize Party Ahead of 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has alleged a plot to destabilize the party, aiming to facilitate Bola Ahmed Tinubu's unopposed candidacy in the 2027 presidential elections. In a statement from Abuja, ADC National Chairman Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi described the actions as a calculated attempt by certain elements within the party to create confusion and weaken the opposition platform.

The ADC asserts that there is no legal basis for this confusion and that the party's leadership, led by Senator David Mark, remains resolute. They plan to employ every legitimate means to resist these alleged anti-democratic forces.

The ADC claims that the plot is reportedly driven by APC governors in collaboration with senior security officials in Abuja. Alhaji Bala Ibrahim of the APC denied any influence over the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), stating that the APC does not dictate INEC's actions.

The ADC views these allegations as baseless and indicative of anxiety within the opposition parties, particularly the PDP, which has previously accused the APC of interfering in their affairs.
