ADC Chieftain Rejects Tinubu Endorsements by Governors

Ikebunwa, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has publicly dismissed the recent endorsements of President Bola Tinubu by state governors, describing them as politically insignificant. During the inauguration of the ADC's Good Governance Initiative at Anaedo Hall in Nnewi, he stated that these endorsements do not reflect the will of Nigerian citizens, who are distancing themselves from the ruling party due to economic hardships.

Ikebunwa, a former student union government president, expressed confidence in ADC's chances ahead of the 2027 elections, highlighting strong support from traders, youth, women, and stakeholders across the constituency. He criticized the performance of the current representatives, alleging poor representation and a lack of development, arguing that the constituency has fallen behind in terms of empowerment programs.

He disclosed that the party aims to strengthen grassroots operations and increase membership through initiatives that will enhance coordination at the local level. The event was also attended by ADC chairman Chief Ibeokonkwo Michael, who expressed optimism about Ikebunwa's candidacy for the ADC ticket in the upcoming national assembly elections.
