ADC Chieftain Urges Makinde, Mohammed to Join ADC

Usman Okai, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called on key political figures, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, to abandon the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and join ADC in light of the ongoing leadership crisis within PDP. Okai's appeal, made in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, targets members of the PDP Governor's Forum, particularly those aligned with the faction led by Kabiru Turaki.

The call comes as PDP faces significant legal challenges following its national convention held in Ibadan on November 15-16, 2025, which has resulted in a court appeal that could nullify the convention's outcomes. Okai emphasized that the uncertainty surrounding PDP's leadership and the potential disqualification of candidates could jeopardize the party's viability ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He urged politicians seeking a stable platform to consider ADC, which aims to strengthen its structure across the country.
