ADC Condemns Violence Against Members in Kaduna

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) condemned an attack on its members in Kaduna State, which occurred during a solidarity walk for the party’s governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru, on Wednesday. The ADC's National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, issued a statement on Thursday, warning that political thuggery could undermine the integrity of the 2027 electoral process.

The party described the incident as an unacceptable escalation of violence as political activities begin to intensify. The ADC urged security agencies to identify, arrest, and prosecute those responsible for the attack, emphasizing that no individual or political party has a monopoly on violence.

The party expressed solidarity with Isa Ashiru and other affected members, calling on the Kaduna State Government to ensure the safety of opposition parties. The ADC asserted its commitment to peaceful democratic participation and stated that intimidation would not deter its political activities in Kaduna State.
