US E-2 Investor Visa Eligibility

Only three West African countries—Liberia, Senegal, and Togo—are eligible for the US E-2 Treaty Investor Visa, allowing citizens to live and work in the US with a substantial investment. The treaties for these countries were established between 1939 and 1990.

The US Department of State has released a list of 10 African countries whose citizens qualify for E-1 and E-2 visas, allowing entry for trade and investment. Notably, Ethiopia, Liberia, and Togo hold both visa statuses.

The U.S. government has released a list of over 80 countries eligible for the E-2 treaty investor visa, allowing citizens to work in the U.S. based on substantial investments. Ten African nations are included, each with specific treaty dates.
