Court Hears Nafiu Bala's Case Against Mark and Aregbesola

The Federal High Court heard the case of Nafiu Bala against David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola concerning a leadership crisis within the ADC on June 1, 2026. Justice Peter Lifu was assigned to the case, which was previously handled by Justice Emeka Nwite.

Bala's legal representative, Moham Sheriff, cited a lack of confidence in the judiciary, arguing that the reassignment of the case contradicted a Supreme Court order. The ADC's petition to the National Judicial Council (NJC) requested an investigation into Justice John Tsoho's conduct regarding the case reassignment.

The matter has been adjourned indefinitely pending compliance with Supreme Court directives. The ADC is also preparing for the 2027 general elections, with Atiku Abubakar emerging as a presidential candidate after defeating two aspirants at the national convention.
