Court Adjourns ADC Leadership Dispute Indefinitely

The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned a suit challenging the leadership structure of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) indefinitely. The case, filed by party chieftain Nafiu Bala Gomb, was presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite.

The adjournment follows a request from the plaintiff's counsel, Luka Musa Haruna, to transfer the case to a different judge, which was opposed by the defense counsel. The Supreme Court had previously dismissed an interlocutory appeal related to the matter.

The plaintiff's request for reassignment was described by the defense as an attempt to delay proceedings and manipulate judicial assignments. Justice Nwite noted that the court would not act on the chief judge's letter without hearing from all parties involved, emphasizing the importance of fair hearing principles.

The case involves allegations against former leaders David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola for violating the party's constitution and the Electoral Act.
