Court to Rule on Abejide's Challenge to ADC Leadership

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Musa Liman, is scheduled to deliver a judgment on April 13 concerning a suit filed by Hon. Leke Abejide, which challenges the leadership of Senator David Mark in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Abejide's suit seeks a court order to restrain Mark and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola from their roles as interim national chairman and secretary, respectively. The suit also requests the court to nullify the leadership transfer from Ralph Nwosu to Mark and Aregbesola, claiming it was illegal and did not comply with the Electoral Act 2022.

The defense argues that Abejide lacks the legal standing to file the suit, asserting that the matter pertains to the internal affairs of a political party, which is non-justiciable. The court is also set to hear a related suit filed by Hon.

Nafiu Bala Gomb against the same leadership on April 14.
