Yusuf Urges Atiku to Address ADC's Internal Issues

Hon. Tee-Jai Yusuf, a former House of Representatives committee chairman, challenged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's criticisms of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Yusuf described Abubakar's allegations against INEC as an attempt to divert attention from internal challenges facing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. He argued that political leaders should first address weaknesses within their organizations instead of blaming external institutions for difficulties.

Yusuf rejected the claim that INEC's chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, was appointed to weaken opposition parties, insisting that political parties must accept responsibility for their internal processes.

He emphasized that true leadership requires self-reflection and accountability, urging political actors to prioritize issues in their campaigns and build confidence in democratic institutions rather than weakening them for short-term political gains.
