ADC Seeks Clarity on Tinubu's Extended Absence from Nigeria

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has issued a statement demanding clarification from the Presidency about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's prolonged absence from Nigeria. This absence has continued for six days beyond the end of his originally announced three-week vacation, which was expected to conclude on September 21, 2026.

The ADC PCC, represented by its Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, expressed concern over the lack of information regarding the President's whereabouts and the reasons for the extension of his stay abroad. They called for transparency regarding the constitutional arrangements in place during his absence and questioned the authority of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who has been representing the President at official functions.

The ADC emphasized the importance of informing Nigerians about who is exercising presidential authority while Tinubu remains outside the country, citing ongoing economic challenges and insecurity as critical issues that necessitate clarity.
