Omar Suleiman Affirms Commitment to Adamawa Governorship Race

Omar Suleiman, the governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, has publicly denied withdrawing from the 2027 gubernatorial race. This statement comes amid speculation that he might abandon his candidacy, particularly following the defection of his main backer, Babachir Lawal, to another faction.

Lawal's departure was linked to accusations against Atiku Abubakar, the presidential ticket bearer for the ADC, regarding the rigging of the party's primary elections to favor another candidate. In response to the rumors, Suleiman, through his aide Abdullahi Malgwi, labeled the claims as false and baseless.

He emphasized his unwavering commitment to his campaign and urged the public and party members in Adamawa State to disregard the speculation, asserting his determination to serve the people of the state.
