ADC Welcomes Supreme Court Ruling, Demands INEC Resignation

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) expressed approval of the Supreme Court's judgment affirming David Mark as the party's national chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as the national secretary. This ruling was seen as a validation of the party's leadership structure amid internal crises.

The statement, signed by Bolaji Abdullahi, emphasized the court's unanimous decision, which was credited for reinforcing the judiciary's role in Nigeria's political system. The Supreme Court set aside a previous order that maintained the status quo during ongoing legal disputes.

Justice Moham Garba highlighted that the preservation order could not continue once the matter was concluded. The ADC criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and called for the resignation of its chairman, Joash Amupitan, citing concerns over the integrity and neutrality required in the office.

The party urged its members to remain vigilant and actively participate in defending democracy against attempts to undermine the will of the people.
