ADC Questions INEC on Electoral Officers' Redeployment

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rivers State Chapter, has raised concerns regarding the recent redeployment of seven Electoral Officers by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a statement from Publicity Secretary Chizy Enyi, the ADC requested transparency in INEC's decisions, asserting that such actions should be free from political influence, especially in light of the upcoming 2027 general elections.

The party claimed that some redeployed officers were deemed unacceptable to certain political interests due to their perceived professional independence. Allegations suggest that subsequent postings may have been influenced by the "Rainbow Coalition." The ADC is not asserting these allegations as facts but is urging INEC to investigate and provide clarity.

They have requested confirmation of the redeployment, the authorizing body, and the criteria for new postings. Additionally, the ADC expressed concerns over the potential recruitment of politically biased individuals for sensitive electoral roles and called for safeguards to ensure neutrality in the electoral process.
