ADC Vows to Combat Illegality in 2027 Elections

The Rivers State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared its intention to resist any illegality and intimidation in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The party, represented by State Publicity Secretary Chizy Enyi, stated that it would not boycott any part of the elections, despite what they termed ‘regrettable and provocative’ decisions by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Enyi emphasized the party's readiness to combat any alleged attempts to undermine the political will of the people. He expressed concerns regarding the operational transparency of INEC and specifically criticized recent administrative changes, including the sudden redeployment of key electoral officers across local government areas in Rivers State.

Enyi noted that seven officials were transferred out of the state under circumstances that require urgent clarification, questioning whether this decision was unique to Rivers State or part of a broader national strategy.
