ADC Clarifies Leadership Status After Court Ruling

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a statement on Saturday, clarifying its position regarding a recent Court of Appeal judgment related to the alleged removal of David Mark, the party's national chairman, and Rauf Aregbesola, the national secretary. Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's spokesperson, emphasized that the appeal court ruling was purely procedural and did not address the substantive issues concerning the leadership of the party.

He noted that the case challenging Mark and Aregbesola is still pending in the Federal High Court and has not yet been heard on its merits. Abdullahi stated that the appeal court did not grant any relief to the plaintiffs nor issue any orders affecting the party's leadership structure.

Consequently, the ADC maintains that its current leadership remains unchanged until the Federal High Court makes a determination on the substantive suit. The party urged its members not to panic or misinterpret the judgment, reaffirming its unity and focus amid external pressures.
