ADC: Reason INEC Has Not Recognised David Mark, Others

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not officially recognized former Senate President David Mark and others in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) due to a procedural lapse in the party's notification letter. The delay in recognition is attributed to a letter dated July 29, 2025, addressed to INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu by the former national chairman of ADC, Ralph Nwosu.

The letter conveyed a resolution from the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, empowering the NEC to assume the functions of the national convention until the next sitting. Despite the leadership change and the appointment of 44 new national officers, including Senator David Mark as national chairman, INEC still recognizes the previous officials.

INEC has not acknowledged Senator Mark and others due to the absence of signature specimens submitted in the document. The party has also dismissed a fake list circulating on social media, urging Nigerians to disregard it and rely on verified communication from official channels.
