ADC faction rejects David Mark’s leadership, says he’s not party member

The Nafiu Bala faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected David Mark's leadership, stating that he is not a legitimate member of the party. In a statement issued on Friday, Aminu Alhassan, the special assistant for public affairs, declared that the former Senate President's leadership is a clear violation of the party's constitution.

The opposition politician, Mark, had adopted the party as part of a coalition platform for the 2023 elections, which includes prominent figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Uche Secondus, and Peter Obi. The faction emphasized that Mark's team does not represent the ADC and criticized the move as a blatant disregard for the party's democratic principles.

This comes after the founder of the ADC, Ralph Nwosu, announced his resignation from the National Working Committee (NWC).
