ADC Rejects Tinubu's Endorsement by Islamic Scholars

The Jigawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term by approximately 500 Islamic scholars, clerics, and preachers who gathered in Dutse. The ADC described the endorsement as unfortunate and contrary to Islamic teachings, urging religious leaders to preserve their independence and moral authority.

The party criticized the communiqué from the meeting, particularly the assertion that the Tinubu administration initiated the Kano-Dutse/Kano-Maradi railway project, clarifying that it was approved and awarded under former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2021. The ADC challenged the APC-led Federal Government to identify significant projects initiated by the Tinubu administration in Jigawa State.

Additionally, the ADC rejected claims of improved security in the North-West, citing recent kidnappings and terrorist attacks. The party also attributed rising living costs to the removal of the petrol subsidy and urged Nigerians to evaluate the government based on security, economic welfare, and transparency.
