Northern Scholars Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Re-election

Mustapha Darma Rabe, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, announced that over 500 Islamic scholars, preachers, and clerics from 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027. This endorsement was made during a strategic meeting held in Dutse, Jigawa State, which included six Northern governors: Uba Sani (Kaduna), Dikko Radda (Katsina), Mala Buni (Yobe), and Jibrin Abubakar (Jigawa), along with Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin and Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs Kabir Ibrahím Masari.

The scholars reviewed the Tinubu administration's progress in security and infrastructure, noting improvements in Kaduna, Katsina, and Sokoto states, while acknowledging that more work is needed in Niger and Zamfara states. The forum emphasized the importance of the rehabilitation of the Kano-Kaduna highway for trade and economic activities, highlighting the impact of roads and security on access to markets, schools, healthcare, and livelihoods.
