Amaechi Advocates for ADC to Zone Presidential Ticket to South in 2027

Amaechi, a former Minister of Transport and ex-Governor of Rivers State, urged the African Democrat Congress (ADC) to strategically zone its presidential ticket to the Southern region for the 2027 elections. Speaking during a stakeholder meeting in Kano State, Amaechi emphasized the need to avoid anything contrary to the electoral mobilization in the region.

He stressed the party's commitment to supporting whoever emerges as the presidential candidate through a fair and competitive selection process. Amaechi warned that selecting a northern candidate could complicate campaign efforts and trigger resentment in the region.

He urged the ADC to prioritize competence and general leadership qualities in selecting its flagbearer, emphasizing the importance of power rotation between the North and South while affirming his commitment to supporting the party's eventual candidate regardless of the region.
