Amaechi Confident in Securing ADC Presidential Ticket

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, a prominent politician and former Minister of Transport, stated his confidence in securing the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 elections during an interview on Tuesday. He highlighted his extensive political experience, including serving as the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, two-term governor of Rivers State, chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, and director of the Buhari campaign.

Amaechi criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu, alleging a drift towards authoritarianism and the abandonment of democratic ideals. He expressed dissatisfaction with the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that his decision to leave was based on principles rather than personal grievances.

Amaechi emphasized the importance of leadership integrity and the need for capable governance in Nigeria, asserting that he would remain with the ADC even if he does not secure the ticket.
