ADC Denies Defection Claims Involving Obi and Atiku

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly refuted claims suggesting that Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are considering a defection, labeling these reports as false speculation. The party's spokesperson stated that the leadership has not engaged in discussions about any political party defections.

The ADC emphasized its focus on challenging what it describes as unlawful actions taken against its leadership. Abdullahi, a representative of the ADC, expressed confidence that the judiciary would uphold the rule of law and ensure that illegal actions against the party's leadership are overturned.

The ADC remains committed to safeguarding multiparty democracy in Nigeria and aims to expand coalitions to unite opposition elements in the country. The statement categorically dismissed any suggestions of abandoning the ADC, despite describing the current political climate as a "flagrant bastardization" of democratic institutions.
