Media Conflict Among Supporters Threatens ADC Coalition

Usman Austin Okai, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), issued a statement on Friday highlighting the dangers of the ongoing media war between supporters of former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar. Okai warned that this conflict could distract from critical efforts to resolve the ADC's leadership tussle, which is currently under judicial review.

He urged Atiku Abubakar to define a clear operational mode for his supporters, emphasizing the need for their energy to be directed towards a common goal rather than engaging in internal disputes. Okai stressed that the primary focus of the coalition should remain on the judicial process aimed at rescuing the faction led by David Mark.

He cautioned that the insults and divisions sown by this media conflict could create deep-seated bitterness that would be difficult to heal, especially when the coalition needs to present a united front for the general elections.
