ADC Denies David Mark Stepping Aside as National Chairman

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has refuted claims that former Senate President David Mark is stepping aside as National Chairman to allow Ralph Nwosu to take over leadership. Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's National Public Secretary, labeled the reports as false and urged members and the public to disregard them.

This reaction comes amid internal disagreements and pressure on the party's leadership structure, particularly as the ADC prepares for its national convention scheduled for April 14, 2026. The party's leadership disputes have been exacerbated by a court appeal judgment delivered on March 12, 2026, which directed the party to maintain its leadership status quo pending the resolution of a substantive suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Despite ongoing leadership conflicts, the ADC remains committed to holding its convention as planned.
