David Mark Meets PRP Leaders Amid ADC Leadership Crisis

On Friday, David Mark, the national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), held a closed-door meeting with key figures from the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) to discuss the ongoing leadership crisis within the ADC. The meeting included PRP national chairman Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, PRP national public secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, and others. Sources indicate that the discussions centered on the leadership dispute within the ADC, which has intensified due to the emergence of a third faction. This faction recently endorsed a decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw recognition of Mark's leadership, citing a court appeal judgment. During the meeting, Mark reportedly expressed gratitude for the PRP's support, emphasizing the need for solidarity amidst the crisis. The ADC is facing challenges as factions within the party dispute leadership claims, with accusations against former ADC national chairman Ralph Nwosu regarding attempts to transfer party structure to individuals not aligned with Mark's faction.
