Mark and PRP Leaders Discuss ADC Leadership Crisis

On Friday, David Mark, the national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), conducted closed-door discussions with leaders from the People's Redemption Party (PRP) to address the ongoing leadership crisis within the ADC. This high-level meeting, which took place away from public scrutiny, included notable figures such as Hakeem Baba Ahmed, the new national chairman of the PRP, and Bolaji Abdullahi, among others.

The PRP expressed solidarity with the ADC regarding its disputes with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and condemned actions undermining democracy. Tensions within the ADC have escalated due to the emergence of a third faction that supports INEC's decision to withdraw recognition from Mark's leadership.

This faction, led by Nafiu Bala Gomb, has accused former national chairman Ralph Nwosu of attempting to manipulate the party structure. The meeting signifies a potential alignment among opposition actors as they navigate the political landscape ahead of the 2025 elections.
