ADC to Tinubu: Declare Emergency in Katsina, Zamfara over Growing InsecurityChuks Okocha and Folalumi Alaran in Abuja

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in Katsina and Zamfara states due to the escalating insecurity. The party criticized the federal government's handling of the crisis, citing recent violent attacks that claimed 140 lives in the past two months.

The ADC condemned the massacres in Malumfashi, Katsina State, and Zamfara State, highlighting the collapse of Nigeria's security architecture. The party also rebuked Tinubu for focusing on international engagements while domestic crises persist.

Additionally, the ADC demanded a total overhaul of the country's security framework and accused both the ruling Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of prioritizing politics over the welfare of Nigerians. The ADC also dismissed a fake resignation letter attributed to its factional leadership, emphasizing that the party remains united and committed to its constitutional leadership.
