ADC Warns Delay in Electoral Bill Threatens 2027 Elections in Nigeria

The African Democrat Congress (ADC) has raised concerns over delays in passing the electoral bill in Nigeria, warning that the 2027 elections could be compromised if critical electoral reforms are not implemented. The ADC accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of stalling the bill in the Senate, potentially undermining the credibility of the upcoming elections.

The Senate has inaugurated a committee to review and harmonize the bill, aiming to strengthen Nigeria's electoral framework. The ADC emphasized the importance of timely passage of the bill to prevent risks to the integrity of the electoral process.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was also urged to provide clear guidelines to political parties to ensure compliance with the new electoral requirements.
